Christmas Home Tour 2017

It is here! The wonderful Christmas season is upon us! I absolutely love the magic that is in the air during this time of year. Some of my favorite memories growing up were decorating the house for Christmas. I am so excited to start new traditions with our little family but more importantly teaching them about the true reason for the season!

There is something about Christmas decor that seriously keeps my spirits high. Not to mention helps me feel like it’s winter even when the Texas temperatures do not. #thestruggle Every year I seem to start earlier and earlier, not to take away the importance of Thanksgiving (I don’t host, so no harm done) but to enjoy the festive feels as long as possible. Am I the only pre-thanksgiving decorator?

Here I’m going to give you a glimpse into our
Rustic Glam | Neutral | Modern “Farmhouse” Christmas Decor.

We don’t have a formal dining or formal breakfast area. This room is a little mix between the two. I went with some fun layering to give the hutch some depth and fullness while staying true to my neutral colors/wood tones. I am savoring my last few years without tradition colors but we will probably change it up as the kiddos get older.

I had some left over garland and burlap from Target so I did a quick twist around the lights. I am not a fan of kitchen clutter so it’s pretty bare. I can never seem to commit to counter decor!

The T R E E

Here is my take on the Christmas tree with a toddler; I don’t sacrifice my tree. I totally understand kids are different and it might just be in your curious kiddo’s nature to play with the tree. Cameron is more of a “looker” and “oh wow-er” so we don’t particularly have problems. When she does mess with it, it’s not a huge deal. Shatterproof ornaments and the breakables up high. I am thankful she isn’t into bothering it. We will see how Eli feels next year! Look at that lone present, it makes me so excited!

For the sake of sharing, you’ll notice I don’t have any huge wide shots. This month has been so crazy already and I cannot seem to catch up cleaning wise. Nevermind, decide where I want to hang the extra 50ft of garland that I have! #fail
If I can commit, I will be sure to update this post with more photos. Life is getting the best of me right now.

Did I mention that I am hosting Christmas this year? CUE EXCITEMENT! I’ll definitely be sharing some little extra touches I add as I play hostess.
